Fiber Reinforced Polymer/Plastic
FRP composite material is a kind of high-performance material formed by mixing fiber material and matrix in a certain proportion. According to the different types of resin used, GFRP includes polyester FRP, epoxy FRP, phenolic FRP, etc. Generally, FRP has the properties of light and hard, non-conductive, high mechanical strength, corrosion resistance and so on.
- Tensile strength
With high tensile strength, FRP is obviously higher than steel bar, which is similar to high-strength steel wire. Generally, it is 2 times or even 10 times of steel bar.
- Elastic die
Comparing with steel, the elastic modulus of most FRP products is small. About 25% to 75% of ordinary steel.
- Light Weight
The specific strength is very high, which is usually called light weight and high strength, so the use of FRP material can reduce the dead weight of the structure, convenient construction, its weight is generally 20% of the steel.
- Good designability
FRP is a kind of artificial material, which can be designed with different strength index, elastic mold and special performance requirements by using different processes such as fiber content and paving mode of different fiber materials according to engineering needs, and the shape of FRP products can be flexibly involved in the design.
